VALENCIA
PALACE
MAIN POST AND TELEGRAPH OFFICE
Valencia's Palace of Posts and Telegraphs was inaugurated in 1923 and is one of the most representative public buildings in 20th-century Valencian architecture.
Located in Plaza del Ayuntamiento, built over the former fishing quarter, the building was designed by architect Miguel Ángel Navarro Pérez (Zaragoza, 1883 – 1956).
Its eclectic architecture incorporates notable features of Valencian Modernism, especially visible in the assembly hall and the large central dome, one of the building's most distinctive spaces.
Its construction coincided with a period of profound urban and social change in Valencia, when the city developed new infrastructure in response to economic growth and the expansion of communications.
