VALENCIA
PALACE
MAIN POST AND TELEGRAPH OFFICE
The Palace of Posts and Telegraphs in Valencia opened in 1923 and is one of the most representative examples of 20th-century public architecture in Valencia.
Located in Plaza del Ayuntamiento, built over the former fishing quarter, the building was designed by architect Miguel Ángel Navarro Pérez (Zaragoza, 1883–1956).
Its eclectic architecture incorporates prominent elements of Valencian Modernism, especially visible in the assembly hall and the large central dome, one of the building's most distinctive spaces.
Its construction coincided with a period of profound urban and social change in Valencia, when the city developed new infrastructure to meet economic growth and the expansion of communications.
