In the heart of photography

I never imagined that photography, which I took up later in life, would end up becoming its central focus.

Every photograph begins with a passion, but for me it is also a way of thinking about the world. Through images, I try to understand what is happening around me and, at the same time, what is happening within me. Each project becomes a way of observing, questioning and making sense of lived experience.

Photography is my most intimate language. It is a space where memory, place and identity engage with my own story.

Sometimes I wonder whether turning that passion into a professional and artistic path was too demanding a choice. Yet every project that takes shape, every story I manage to tell, and every person who sees themselves in my images reminds me why I keep taking photographs.

Each project is a way of understanding the world and understanding myself.

A life

THE ROAD TO DREAMS

With the perspective that time gives me, after more than half a century on this journey, I dare to think that happiness is not a destination, but the possibility of continuing to pursue what gives meaning to our lives.

Sometimes I wonder if my goals are too ambitious. That high standard brings moments of anxiety and sadness, moments when I feel the urge to give up, put the camera aside and forget about photography, as if quitting were easier than carrying on.

But another side of me always emerges: the woman who never stops getting back up. The one who needs to share her experiences, her perspectives, and the stories she finds in the world. Then I remember that limits are not always where we think they are, and that as long as I hold on to the desire to create, there is still a road ahead.

Because every project is an opportunity to keep learning, to look more deeply, and to find new questions.

And above all, because creating reminds me that I am still alive.
